Anishnaabek Family Services

The overall goal of the GTB E.M.R. project is to plan, design, test and implement a comprehensive Electronic Medical Records System for the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.

Behavioral Health Services

Behavioral Health Services provides individual, couples', family, and group counseling for people experiencing stressful situations, emotional difficulties, or substance use disorders.

We also provide Chemical Dependency Assessments for the courts, and for the Department of State. We are a fully licensed facility for substance abuse services and all clinical staff licensed by the state of Michigan for mental health counseling. Our community liaison worker helps people find residential treatment for substance use disorders. We have a psychiatrist one day a week for medication management and psychiatric assessments.

Our prevention program offers educational activities that are culturally specific to promote healthy lifestyles in keeping with Native American values.

Contract Health Services

This program provides funding to eligible Tribal Members for general health services including dental, optical, pharmaceutical, physician, hospital, emergency transportation services, patient care equipment and alcohol/drug treatment. This program provides funding for Community Health Representative services to include patient transportation.

Family Health Clinic

The Medicine Lodge programs for Clinic, Human Services, and Behavioral Health works with our eligible population to stress comprehensive continuity of care for our patients while prioritizing high standards of quality care to improve the health of our patients and their families.

Optical Services

Provides optical services to eligible Tribal Members and operates within the Medicine Lodge with regular business hours. There is a technician on staff with minor repairs completed while you wait.

The Strongheart Civic Center

The Strongheart Civic Center as a facility provides a community base for physical fitness with scheduled events and activities to encourage healthy living in the GTB community.
