Public Safety

The Public Safety Department will respond to an emergency or disaster, provide for a safe e nvironment for our community members and visitors, assist victims of crime with fairness, dignity and respect, to protect the citizens of the Grand Traverse Band through effective prosecution of persons who violate criminal laws, to protect the rights of persons accused and to ensure that our natural resources are preserved and protected for future generations.

Offices of the Conservation, Tribal Police, Victim Advocates and Tribal Prosecutor are all located in the lower level of the Medicine Lodge on Stallman and McKeese Road. The GTB Fire & Rescue Department is located ½ mile north of the Leelanau Sands Casino on Putnam Road in Peshawbestown, MI.
