May 5th is National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People. To promote awareness Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians is sponsoring an event on Tuesday May 5th that will tell the stories of those community members who have gone missing and the obstacles that the native community has faced historically to prosecute cases and seek justice for the community and their families.
